The BetaPlayground is an interactive sound art installation based on three typical playground games and activities(hopscotch, a skipping rope, and a see-saw).

Using conductive foam and an Arduino communicating with Processing and Max/MSP the project combines minimalist visual ideals in combination with audio cues in order to subtly imply the necessary interactions without the requirement of explicit instructions. This is done through a combination of carefully chosen speaker positioning, on-screen visuals, and a sound score which combines sounds of the actions and activities themselves with a background of playground sounds and noises.
